Content is crucial to Ekho’s strategy in organic growth. We had the technique, the brains, and the money but we didn’t have a plan until January 2022. We refined our offer down to an SEO-specific service and built out from there.

Our SEO service is based on a proprietary technology we do research and development for, so not being able to completely promote the software we struggled with our messenging. People either thought we were full of it, or that we were doing something super sketchy.

In order to communicate how this tech could solve specific problems in the industry, the sales team needed to understand it. This led to some communication problems between ourselves and our clients, and our messaging needed to be refined.

Fulfillment was becoming bottlenecked as we had focused too heavily on sales processes

Despite the sales struggles, we still closed many deals and there were growing pains as our small fulfillment team pulled long hours to ensure promises and expectations were met. This was not going to be sustainable long term and something had to be done.

We got a bit overzealous when we initially soft launched, and even though we can offer this tech to anyone with an online business, we shouldn’t. Since our team is still small, we needed to be smart with choosing who we worked with so that we could maintain good relationships with our clients while also maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

We established and tested a number of CRMs to help organize our day-to-day so that any redundant task was taken care of automatically. We arrived at GoHighLevel as the best solution for what we wanted to do and together built the systems into it. Through some trial and error, we finally had an automated system that supported the client journey from beginning to fulfillment. This took pressure off our team and saved time.

Established Weekly Check-Ins

Our team is varied in backgrounds and experience. We realized they were connected via Slack but the team spirit wasn’t present yet. We worked as remote contractors, and that’s how it felt too. A weekly meeting was established to go over 2-3 important talking points for that week and this naturally connected us as we brainstormed and troubleshooted things together.

Collaborated On Sales Material

With each team meeting, we made steps to improve our sales material, clarified any confusion about an aspect of a process, and role-played sales calls to test each other. Everyone comes together with different perspectives and expertise, and we’re all the better for it. Assets will always be in creation, but the teams knowledge will continue to deepen.
